Suzie
Hello,
I just wanted to say thank you for all your help in adopting Suzie/Dixie. She’s too good to be true. She has been so well behaved it’s almost as if she has been with me for a long time. She does show some aggression issues with the neighbor’s dogs but we will work on that. (We have nick named her Taz, for the Tasmanian She Devil) It was an exciting day for her yesterday and it’s understandable. I’m sure obedience classes will help with that.
Thanks again so much.

Isabella
Sandra,
Thanks for checking on your girl! We aren’t slacking with photo documentation of her life but we are slacking with sending it out! Attached you will find your girl happily prancing on the beach still attempting to master the art of “LEAVE IT”. Last night she graduated from more Agility/Obedience classes and we enrolled in another 5 week course. It is so much fun, I think we like it more than she does! We love her to death and I think she is enjoying (I hope) her life. She is becoming a very spoiled only child which Rick and I agree will only be cured by another child. We will be looking for another as soon as one of us is at home a little more (probably next year).
Hope your summer is going well and your kids are doing fine! We will be going to Maine for a week (with Bella) in August for vacation. We will plan a trip to visit you and Diane in the fall! I am sure Isabella will love to see you.

May
Hi,
We adopted May (black border collie/lab mix) last weekand and just want to let you know how well she's doing and how happy we are to have her and she seems to be with us. She's slept soundly even from the very first night; she's eating and pooping well and she's just having a blast running and playing on the beach. She has adapted so well - but she is getting a lot of love which, I'm sure, helps. She's the perfect fit for our family - thank you!
Thaks again,
Lesley Smith & family. |

Astrid
My husband and I adopted Astrid ( a border collie/black lab mix) last August 2006 and despite a rocky first few months, we couldn't have chose a better pet! Astrid is an absolute joy. She is full of love, energy, and extremely intuitive. She has been fabulous around children and after a few encounters, will open up to folks. She is still shy and scares very easily but we bring her to a dog park where she does extremely well and is slowly building up her confidence level! She brings so much happiness to us and our family members. We are so happy you kept her long enough for us to meet her and welcome her into our family!
Thank you,
Natalie Bayersdorfer

Grammie
Hi Brockton Blue Dog Shelter - It was great speaking to you this weekend about Grammie--our new favorite subject! Here are some pictures of our Grammie on her orthopedic dog bed (very comfortable for her old bones)! The vet says she is aging well and is in good health. She loves going for long walks and being outside in general. Even though she's only been with us for 2 months, she feels very much a part of the family. Our 16-year-old son sometimes looks at her and exclaims, "We have a dog!" as if he still can't believe it. That is because when he was younger he had asthma and allergies and we never thought we'd be able to have one. We looked at many shelters' websites and Grammie was the only dog we could all agree on and she fits right in. We are very grateful to Brockton Blue Dog Shelter for allowing us to adopt her and for obviously taking such good care of her until her forever family came for her. We hope she is with us for a long time.

Zeus
Attached is a recent photo of Zeus, a wonderful addition to our family. He is doing very well, is happy, and loved by all of us (even the cats to a degree, although the chickens could care less about him!)
Please keep us in the loop of events the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter holds as we would love to come by and show him off.

Tess
Dear Brockton Blue Dog Volunteers:
Goldie (who we’ve renamed Tess) is doing very well with us. She’s housebroken and being completely spoiled by sleeping on our bed with us. She takes a four mile run every morning with Olivia and we’ve been hiking with her out on Middlesex Fells on the weekend. Kevin has even taken Tess to work with him for the day. Our vet checked her out and pronounced her in very good health. Tess has reached a truce with our cats; they all sleep together but they don’t play yet. She’s put on some weight and has all these hound wrinkles now. Tess has also graduated from obedience school! We love Tess very much and thank you for all the hard work you do to rescue such wonderful dogs!
Sincerely,
Olivia Williams and Kevin Park

Loretta
Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to drop a line and a photo of Loretta who has blossomed into a very fun loving, mischeivous and wonderful companion. She has grown quite a bit and is now about 18 pounds but still a skinny little wiggly girl. She gets along great with her 9 year old Jack Russel companion Cammie. Loretta can't wait for her to get up every morning and gives her an all star greeting each day. She is getting along great with all sorts of people - young, old, male, female etc. She loves birds and bird watching and is facinated by all forms of nature - bugs, leaves, geckos (she went to Florida). She is especially engaged by people riding on bicycles and in boats or kayaks. Her social skills have developed quite nicely and she now attends business meetings with me and travels with me quite comfortably. Loretta is a truly remarkable dog who has brought great joy to our lives and everyone who meets her. A BIG THANK YOU! to everyone at the Blue Dog Shelter who fostered her, cared for her and saw her true spirit. You are all remarkable people doing a most amazing job that I know can sometimes have as much saddness and difficulty as it can joy and satisfaction.
Sincerely,
Sue Connors, Ann Feeley, Cammie and Loretta |

Dixie Chick
Hello all,
Just a little update on our latest adoptee, Dixie Chick. This is the 2nd pet we’ve adopted from the BBDS. We now have 3 dogs, and they keep us busy all the time. Back in October, we adopted Dakota, a black lab retriever mix. He was just a year old in December, so he is still a pup. His training at J.M.K-9 Training went so well, and we felt so bad for Dixie Chick, that we decided to welcome her into our home. Dixie Chick has a lot of energy, and keeps us both on our toes. She recently graduated from the training school, also.
Dixie Chick is a very loveable cutie and is adjusting well to her new home. She loves to play with Dakota, go for car rides, and most of all...go for leashed walks with Dakota and our other pet, Molly. Dixie Chick is a Beagle-Coonhound mix about 3 years old. Being the ‘hunter’ that she is, she makes a funny ‘snorting’ noise when she goes for her walks...’power sniffing’ everything. The 3 dogs are great company, and they always make us laugh the way they play and wrestle with each other. We’ll write back again, to give you another update.

Harley & Emma
Here is Emma with her new boyfriend Harley. They are getting along so well and love to play with each other. Emma had no problems with my two cats but Harley doesn't really like them so we are working on that.
I'm planning on taking both of them to obedience classes when Emma recovers from her spaying. Here is one that I have found near me and I included the website for you to check out. Please let me know if this is an acceptable program so I can sign them up.
Thank you so much
Marianne
