Tess

Dear Brockton Blue Dog Volunteers:

Goldie (who we’ve renamed Tess) is doing very well with us. She’s housebroken and being completely spoiled by sleeping on our bed with us. She takes a four mile run every morning with Olivia and we’ve been hiking with her out on Middlesex Fells on the weekend. Kevin has even taken Tess to work with him for the day. Our vet checked her out and pronounced her in very good health. Tess has reached a truce with our cats; they all sleep together but they don’t play yet. She’s put on some weight and has all these hound wrinkles now. Tess has also graduated from obedience school! We love Tess very much and thank you for all the hard work you do to rescue such wonderful dogs! Sincerely, Olivia Williams and Kevin Park

Katya Katie Rose

Hi Dawn, Katie is doing great in Basic manners, This past Mondy she tried some agility activities. She was hesitant at first, but once she did it, she loved it. Her confidence is building. Just to keep in touch and thank you for her very good start. She is a wonderful dog! We are lucky to have her.

Lea

Attached are some photos of Lea as requested.

Her favorite spot in the world to sleep is on our bed, though the futon also works. She enjoys cuddling with our Golden girls (Ilsa and Ivy). She is very quiet in the house but once outside she is a crazy puppy - darting around the yard like a bucking bronco and tackling the other dogs.

We are still working on her timidity but she has come a long way!

Keeper

Hello

My wife and I adopted Keeper (bullmastiff mix) about 1.5 years ago. We could not have asked for a better dog. Blue Dog Shelter received him and his two sisters from a Tenn. kill shelter and I believe one of his sisters names was Mittons. At the time of the adoption we had a Yorkie (Tori) who has recently passed. It was a very sad time for us but she lived a very long life to the age of 18.

We now find ourselves looking to get Keeper a brother or sister and have really fallen for the mastiff breed. We have a large yard and Keeper has taken exceptionally well to the training. He is trained not to leave the yard and loves spending time outside with us.

Anyways if you know of any others that are in need of adoption we would appreciate the opportunity to bring Keeper in to meet them.

This is a recent photo of him and our daughter on the way home from an weekend down the Cape.

Thanks for bringing Keeper to us,

Ron and Deb Souza

Loretta

Hello Everyone! Just wanted to drop a line and a photo of Loretta who has blossomed into a very fun loving, mischeivous and wonderful companion. She has grown quite a bit and is now about 18 pounds but still a skinny little wiggly girl. She gets along great with her 9 year old Jack Russel companion Cammie. Loretta can't wait for her to get up every morning and gives her an all star greeting each day. She is getting along great with all sorts of people - young, old, male, female etc. She loves birds and bird watching and is facinated by all forms of nature - bugs, leaves, geckos (she went to Florida). She is especially engaged by people riding on bicycles and in boats or kayaks. Her social skills have developed quite nicely and she now attends business meetings with me and travels with me quite comfortably. Loretta is a truly remarkable dog who has brought great joy to our lives and everyone who meets her. A BIG THANK YOU! to everyone at the Blue Dog Shelter who fostered her, cared for her and saw her true spirit. You are all remarkable people doing a most amazing job that I know can sometimes have as much saddness and difficulty as it can joy and satisfaction. Sincerely, Sue Connors, Ann Feeley, Cammie and Loretta

Pepper Moore

Hi! In another e-mail, I sent photos of Pepper Moore. We adopted him from the Brockton Blue dog shelter last July and he has been a wonderful addition to our family. He is a border colie/lab mix and the best part of him is his peppered feet. Pepper just turned a year old a couple of weeks ago and he is so Big! He loves to give hugs and they are the best! He is the most lovable dog and so very happy every day. Pepper's favorite game to play, although a bit naughty, is to steal something he knows he is not supposed to have (a sock, glove, pot holder...) and then run in circles as you try and get it away from him...it is a daily event :-P. Although a bit hyper, Pepper has grown to be a part of our family and we are proud.

Thank-you for helping us find him!

Dixie Chick

Hello all,

Just a little update on our latest adoptee, Dixie Chick. This is the 2nd pet we’ve adopted from the BBDS. We now have 3 dogs, and they keep us busy all the time. Back in October, we adopted Dakota, a black lab retriever mix. He was just a year old in December, so he is still a pup. His training at J.M.K-9 Training went so well, and we felt so bad for Dixie Chick, that we decided to welcome her into our home. Dixie Chick has a lot of energy, and keeps us both on our toes. She recently graduated from the training school, also.

Dixie Chick is a very loveable cutie and is adjusting well to her new home. She loves to play with Dakota, go for car rides, and most of all...go for leashed walks with Dakota and our other pet, Molly. Dixie Chick is a Beagle-Coonhound mix about 3 years old. Being the ‘hunter’ that she is, she makes a funny ‘snorting’ noise when she goes for her walks...’power sniffing’ everything. The 3 dogs are great company, and they always make us laugh the way they play and wrestle with each other. We’ll write back again, to give you another update.

Harley & Emma

Here is Emma with her new boyfriend Harley. They are getting along so well and love to play with each other. Emma had no problems with my two cats but Harley doesn't really like them so we are working on that.

I'm planning on taking both of them to obedience classes when Emma recovers from her spaying. Here is one that I have found near me and I included the website for you to check out. Please let me know if this is an acceptable program so I can sign them up.

Thank you so much

Marianne

Duncan

Dear Blue Dog Shelter,

I'm sending you some pictures of Duncan. We adopted him a year ago from your shelter. I just wanted to let you know that he is doing well even with his arthritis and cataracts. He has a loving home, is well fed, gets 2 walks a day, lots of hugs and has taken over a couch which is his favorite place to hang out. Thanks for letting us have him!
