Jeni Mather-FOUNDER
Jeni is the Founder and past President of Brockton Blue Dog Shelter. The idea for the shelter came as a
result of her rescue of Blue, the shelter mascot, who needed surgery on his leg. Jeni and friends of
J.M. K-9 Training held a successful fundraiser and raised money for his surgery. She thought that if
she could help one dog, then maybe there were others out there that needed help too. And with that
idea, the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter was born. Under Jeni's guidance the shelter has grown to be very
successful in placing hundreds of dogs into their forever homes.
In addition to her shelter responsibilities Jeni is the owner of J.M. K-9 Training. She and her husband
are the animal control officers for the Town of West Bridgewater. Jeni also works part time at the
North Main St. Veterinary Clinic in Brockton as a technician and receptionist. She and her husband
George are also the proud parents to sons George and Russell. |

Diane Chimbur-TREASURER, BOARD OF DIRECTORS

the very first fundraiser for Blue she knew she wanted to help find homes for all the dogs in need. Currently she is
an adoption coordinator, involved with fundraising, and planning events. |

Sunni Willis-PRESIDENT, BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Sunni Willis is a Certified Veterinary Technician and Assistant Manager at the North Main Street Veterinary Clinic. Sunni became involved with the shelter gradually over the past few years, often just attending fundraisers and making an occasional donation. It was through that exposure that she became aware of the great potential that the shelter has to place so many deserving dogs into great, loving homes. She now spends a lot of her free time doing shelter work that most would consider "behind the scenes" such as putting adoptable dogs onto the petfinder website, and contributing articles for the newsletter. Sunni lives in Hanson with her husband Alex, and her children Kellen and Maddie (also a Blue Dog volunteer) She has her own "Blue Dog" named Disco that she adopted in July 2006, and another adopted dog named Jazz. |

Katie and her husband Chris were married in 2007 and are expecting their first child. |

Kelsie Hill-VICE PRESIDENT, BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Kelsie started volunteering at Brockton Blue Dog Shelter in August 2006. She is a huge animal lover (dogs in
particular) and was looking for a way she could spend some of her free time around them. Her cousin's husband
mentioned Brockton Blue Dog Shelter and suggested she see about volunteering there, and has been involved with the shelter ever since. She helps with the special fundraising events and the newsletter. Kelsie says it has been a great experience, not only getting to meet and help some great dogs, but also
the really great people involved with J.M. K-9 Training and Brockton Blue Dog Shelter. |

Sharon Owens-Volunteer
Sharon had volunteered at the Friends of the Plymouth Pound in Pembroke until it closed. She then found the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter. Sharon and her husband have 3 dogs and have also fostered dogs in the past. Sharon is often found at our fundraising events acting as a greeter, and also helps to distribute our shelter newsletter. |
|

Debbie Cantone-Volunteer
Debbie became involved with the shelter after adopting her dog Calleigh. She has become a big part of our first Blue Dog Dinner Dance, and you will find her at the shelter several days per week doing adoption counseling, and other shelter duties. |
|
|
Maddie Volante-JUNIOR VOLUNTEER
Maddie Volante is a young, but enthusiastic volunteer for the shelter. You will often find her at our big fundraising events, helping out in any way she is asked. She also likes to spend her school vacation days at the shelter, walking puppies, and doing some general cleaning. Maddie also does some occasional fundraising on her own by selling candy bars at school on behalf of the shelter. We know that Maddie will help to bring the next generation on board about awareness of homeless animals, and how the Blue Dog Shelter helps to find homes for them. |
|
|
Carol Gordon-Volunteer
Carol and her husband Jeff play a vital role in keeping our program going. Every week they make the round-trip drive to Harvard Mass to pick up our puppies for adoption. Without their help, our puppy adoptions would have to be cut back. Carol and Jeff adopted their dog Hannah from Blue Dog, and Carol says she enjoys the opportunity to participate in the program, and we are very lucky to have them! |
|
|
Jeff Gordon-Volunteer
Jeff is one of the core volunteers, without whom our program would not be able to run as smoothly. Jeff and his wife Carol make a weekly round-trip to Harvard Mass to pick up our puppies for adoption. They are both a huge part of our organization. |
|
|
Sharon Colclough-Volunteer
Sharon has been a lontime volunteer for Bluedog. She had been bringing her dog in for training and daycare at JM K9, and became involved with the first ever Bluefest. You will see Sharon on Saturdays greeting potential adopters and at all of our major fundraising events. |
|
|
Jennifer Chase-Volunteer
Jennifer adopted her own Bluedog named "Bear" in 2006, and has been a foster home for us in the past. She has recently become more involved in the day to day running of the shelter. She is our primary email sorter and makes sure that all of your emails are forwarded to the right person and answered promptly. She is currently learning to be an Adoption Coordinator, and we are very lucky to have her on board. |
|
|
Marion McEwan-Volunteer
Marion became involved with the shelter after adopting a dog from us. She recently retired from a career in nursing, and now has more time to give to Bluedog. Marion is a craft person, so we count on her to make things available for fundraising. She also helps with making callbacks to recently adopted dog's families to ensure a smooth transition, and also will be taking some of the older dogs to training classes during their stay at our shelter. We are lucky to have such a dedicated volunteer. |
|
|
Steve Schmidt & Andrea Schein-Volunteers
Steve and Andrea work together to take beautiful photos of the dogs available for adoption. As a couple, they are dedicated to coming into the shelter every weekend to work with each dog to find it's "true personality" They have a great way of letting each dog tell it's own story through it's picture. They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and we have Steve and Andrea to thank for the great first impressions that our Blue Dogs make! |
|
|
Kathy Boyle-Volunteer
Kathy became involved with the shelter from the beginning. She took a break from volunteering, but now is back full force. Kathy is an Adoption Coordinator, and is in charge of coordinating adoptions of dogs still living in foster care in TN.
